Faithful in Every Season

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

I find winter to be a hard season; it is tiresome, dark and it often feels never-ending. I long for summer to come but I have learnt time and time again that God is faithful in every season of our lives. He is faithful in the dark, dreary winter days and also in the bright, sunny days of summer. God is always faithful to us. There are days that I can find myself questioning where God is or whether he truly present in every moment of our lives, but when I look back upon my life so far, I can see clear evidence of how God has so perfectly orchestrated my life. I can see God’s faithfulness woven through every season. Even when I have been unfaithful, even when I have doubted God’s goodness, he has remained faithful.

How can we learn to trust God’s faithfulness, even when our circumstances seem to contradict it? We learn to trust God through getting to know his character; and this can only happen through constant communion with God in prayer and by reading His word. Only then will we learn that faithfulness is an innate quality of God’s character. Faithful is who God is. There are countless examples of God’s faithfulness in the Bible and the same God who saved Noah and his family from the floods, who protected Daniel from the lions’ mouths, who spared Jonah’s life from the belly of a whale remains faithful to this today, and for all eternity.

You may be going through a challenging season right now but I pray that God will reveal himself to you, that his faithfulness will become clear in your life and that you learn to trust in Him more and more every day. God is faithful in this very moment and He will be faithful for all eternity.
