Here’s a lil reminder that if you’re feeling a lil lost, you’re not the only one.
I feel like I’ve written and rewritten this a thousand times, and the words just can’t seem to convey what I want to say.
It’s got to that point of the year. With only 8 weeks left of my degree, talk of the future seems to be inescapable.
I have so many choices to make, the biggest being whether to stay here in England or to come back to Belfast and I'm feeling torn and at times annoyed. Why isn’t God making it clearer about what I’m meant to be doing? I feel like I’m blindfolded, trying to find my way to the right path.
I’ve done a lot of overthinking, reflecting about things in my life, trying to take stock of the most important things to consider when deciding what’s next. I’ll skip all the details cause there’s been a fair bit in the last couple months, but when I came back to Belfast in Feb for 10 days I had a peace about it, one that at this time, I believe is God leading me back to Belfast.
I have no clue how it’ll look yet but one by one I trust that the pieces will fall into place.
Things always have. Some days are more doubt than faith, but that’s a reflection of my human nature and not God’s faithful character - and I can safely say that God’s character is to be trusted far far more than my feelings.
I’ve been reminded of the song “take courage” and think its a pretty good one.
A song that points to the truth of God’s sovereignty, a reminder that He doesn’t leave us as unfinished and uncared for people.
So have a little read of the lyrics (100% listen to it also), and think about what it is in your life that you want God to sort out and remember that He is greater than it all. All we need is enough faith and trust for today, knowing he’ll renew it tomorrow.
Slow down, take time
Breath in He said
He'd reveal what's to come
The thoughts in His mind
Always higher than mine
He'll reveal all to come
Take courage my heart
Stay steadfast my soul
He's in the waiting
He's in the waiting
Hold onto your hope
As your triumph unfolds
He's never failing
He's never failing
Sing praise my soul
Find strength in joy
Let His Words lead you on
Do not forget His great faithfulness
He'll finish all He's begun
So take courage my heart
Stay steadfast my soul
He's in the waiting
He's in the waiting
Hold onto your hope
As your triumph unfolds
He's never failing
He's never failing
And You who hold the stars
Who call them each by name
Will surely keep, Your promise to me
That I will rise, in Your victory
So take courage my heart
Stay steadfast my soul
He's in the waiting
He's in the waiting
And hold onto your hope
Watch your triumph unfold
He's never failing
He's never failing
