Reflection

I wonder if you ever take time to stop and reflect? Maybe that’s on the past week, month, year. Maybe it’s in your job, your studies, relationships, spiritual life. There are so many things that we can take time to reflect on.

This past week has been a very significant week for me and I have spent a lot of time reflecting. My big prayer point was for thankfulness and appreciating the work that God is doing in me and through me right now. So I decided to spend some time looking at how God has shaped me and changed me in the past year. There is a whole series of changes that have been made, new friends, great job, a welcoming and community centred church, character building and an increased love of Jesus. I am BEYOND thankful for these things. But, in reflecting, there were also times that were very difficult and heart-breaking, things that drained me of all my joy and energy. However, God has continued to be constantly faithful. Ecclesiastes tells us that

“there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the sun” (3:1).

And because of this, I think it is so important that we do stop and reflect in each season of life to see how God has worked in and through you. Sometimes it’s not until we take a big step back that we can actually see what he has done and continues to do.

If you’re following along in our blogs then you’ll know we looked at self-care and the importance of pressing pause last week. So this week, I’m encouraging you to continue to take that time out and press pause, and while doing so, take some time to reflect on whatever season it is that you are in; remembering that

“in all things God works for the good of those who love him” (Romans 8:28)!!

We hope that you are being encouraged by these posts and will continue to be praying for you. Maybe you have prayer requests already, or upon reflection you will gain some, but we would love to be able to pray for you specifically, so please send us a message and we will join in prayer with you.
